About Temporary Mail

A simple way to receive short-lived email

Temporary Mail gives you an email address and a browser inbox for receiving messages during a brief task. Create an inbox, copy its address, and return here to read messages while it is active. You do not need to register a permanent mailbox account, and the service does not send or reply to email.

What the service provides

The site is built for receiving short-lived email in one place. After an inbox is created, its address can be copied into a form on a website that allows temporary addresses. When an email reaches an active inbox, the available message details are shown here in your browser.

The inbox has a time limit shown by the service. You can also delete it yourself. Once an inbox has expired or been deleted, it cannot be reopened from this site.

How an inbox works

A sender sends a message to the temporary address. The email passes through the mail provider assigned to that inbox, then the service retrieves and displays the message details it receives. Refreshing the inbox checks for mail; it cannot make a sender send a message or control the sender's delivery system.

Your browser saves the access details needed to return to the active inbox. Keep the inbox page and its access link private, especially on a shared device. Anyone with access to those details may be able to view messages in that inbox.

When a temporary address may fit

A short-lived inbox can be useful when you need to receive a one-time message and the website you are using permits temporary email. It can keep that one task separate from the address you use for ongoing correspondence.

Choose an email account you control for anything you may need later, including account recovery, banking, healthcare, work, purchases, legal notices, or private conversations. A temporary inbox is not a long-term mailbox, and you should not rely on it to keep records for you.

What the service cannot control

Each sender decides whether to accept a temporary address and how its own email is delivered. A message may be delayed, filtered, or refused before it reaches the inbox. The service cannot guarantee that every sender will accept an address or that every message will arrive.

A temporary address also does not make your browsing anonymous or conceal information you provide to another website. That website applies its own account rules and privacy practices. Use an address that you control whenever a task calls for a stable contact method.

Our guides and product information

The articles and help text on this site explain how the inbox behaves, what its limits are, and how to use it for short-lived messages. Product details can change as the service changes, so the timer and controls shown in the active inbox are the current reference for that inbox. We aim to describe the service plainly and correct pages when their information becomes outdated.
